Can any one help with my pc as I resantly upgrade it and no it only turn on all the fans for half a second then turn off
The specs are
I5 6500
H310M-R r2 motherboard
8gb ram
1tb storage
Builder 500w power supply
Alpine 12 co cpu cooler
Thanks for confirming it but bad news I`m afraid, the CPU and MB may be the same socket number but the MB is only compatible with 8th and 9th generation CPUs so the 6th generation I5 6500 is not compatible
You can confirm for yourself the compatibility issue if you check the CPU support list at ASUS here if you check the Customer questions & answers at amazon here you will see that someone asks about compatibility third question in.

Thanks hopefully if I get a 8th or 9th generation it will work
As long as the CPU socket has not been damaged by fitting the I5 6500 an 8th generation would work but please note that a BIOS update may be required before an 9th generation will work and you can`t do a BIOS upgrade without a working CPU so you best go for an 8th gen CPU tbh.
