I’m passed that now. Back to trying to get an operating system in it.

I got it… There was a second Ethernet port on this PC and it worked.

I have Ubuntu on the flash drive and installed but the PC will only run Ubuntu with the flash drive. I can’t get it to recognize the HD.

Looks like you installed it to the flash drive.

Ubuntu is an open source software operating system that runs from the desktop, to the cloud, to all your internet connected things.

Is there a hard drive attached and is it recognized in the BIOS?

Are the data (to the drive and controller) and power cables connected and snug?

What is the make and model?

If yes to the first two questions then lets see if Ubuntu see the drive as well.

Boot to Linux and open Terminal and type the following command the press Enter (you can copy and paste the command).
                    hwinfo --disk
Copy and Paste the information into a post

BIOS did not see the HD. This is now my next issue with this PC. I know it did the last time I was messing with it tho. This machine is driving me CrAzY !!!

I will find some old HD’s in my stash of parts and see if I can get them to work.

What Sata port # is the HDD connected to?

When you boot linux from the USB drive does it see the DVD drives?

Try connecting the HDD to that SATA cable.

All connections are good. The DVD drive does show in the BIOS. I will try connecting the HD to the DVD cables and see what happens. I also tried connecting an external HD via USB and it did work. I hope resetting the BIOS works.

How do I find that? I reset the BIOS and it now shows the HD.
