Need Operating System

I have this Gaming PC and I can’t get an operating system in it. In this thread from an other discussion I have discussed some about it ( https://pchelpforum.net/t/worthy.28884/ )

If you need more information, just ask and I will get it.

I just want this PC fixed and running so I can sell it.

Thanks for any helping!!!

Hello

What or which OS have you tried installing? How are you trying to install the OS?

How about the 2nd question? Also you may have an option of installing Win 7. Also this pc being a 2008 pc,may not be up to spec’s for Win 10.

Download Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool - MajorGeeks

Make sure you have your boot order to set to boot from USB or perhaps burn a copy of windows onto a DVD

Simply put no. The HDD needs to be in the machine that windows will be installed on.

if I’ve got this right, your problem is getting an OS onto the USB stick, yes?
you simply can’t ‘copy’ the ISO image onto the USB device.
you need software that burns it so the USB is bootable.

I use PowerISO but there are plenty.

so the theory is, download your OS image as an ISO file.
‘burn’ that image to your USB stick via software that makes a bootable USB drive.

for Win10 you need an empty 8GB USB stick.

No, I have a windows operating system and a ubuntu operating system on 2 flash drives. I can’t get either one into this gaming PC.

What steps did you use to create the disk?

Did you follow the instruction in Post # 6 to set the proper Booting order?

When the system is loading Ubuntu and or Windows (from the USB) what screens appear?
Any error message(s)?
Do you see any setup and or install screens?

Does Ubuntu load to the Desktop?

With both flash drives I had no screen showing anything about installing. I will post a pic of what is shows later for you to see. Thanks for helping to all.

It sounds like you are not burning the downloaded ISO to your flash drive, only copying it. Try this to burn your downloaded iso to the flash drive, and then try booting the pc with the drive…
