    cpu upgrade

    Hi guys i have dell optiplex 760 0M858N motherboard up to 8 gb ram ddr2 curently have intel core2duo E8500 and i was wondering if o can upgrade to intel core 2 quad ??? Thnx in advance https://www.facebook.com/images/emoj...1/16/1f642.png

    Download Look My Hardware.
    Save it to your desktop.
    Right Click Run As admin.
    Click Start Scan.
    A log will appear on your desktop when complete.
    Post that here in your next reply.

      Yes you can. The motherboard uses a LGA775 socket and both CPUs use the LGA775 socket. Just make sure your BIOS is up to date and you’ll be fine

          yeah but the motherboard itself idk if it will support cuz this motherboard has like two models and one does and on doesnt support quads so i dont wanna buy a procesor and getstuck with it

                          Your motherboard will support a Intel 2 Quad processor just fine. As I said, it uses a LGA775 socket and it’ll work just fine

                          The Intel Core 2 Quad processor was released in 2008. Your motherboard was released in 2009. You’ll be fine Your computer is also a mini-tower, so it’ll support:

                          Q9550

                          Q9650

                              b cuz ive tried intel qx6700 it siad ''unsuported procesor detected ‘’ and gets stuck there doesnt let you get in bios or anything just black screen saying that
