I already reinstalled Windows in march. See https://pchelpforum.net/t/cannot-install-windows-10-from-dvd-or-usb-stick.73833/
The printer troubles appeared on a clean install. On the previous install on this PC it worked normally.
Yes I know that
That’s why I think something went wrong.
Let’s ask @Pyro
There were minor problems during the isntallation of Windows 10 (after the hard drive problems were solved), but if I have to reinstall every time there is a problem, it may take weeks to install Windows.
I hadn’t seen that suggestion about the two-waqy communication yet. I’ll probably try it this afternoon.
I reinstalled the printer as TCP/IP printer using already installed driver chosen by Windows. Test page printed fine. Printing from Foxit reader again resulted in an attempt to print extra copies.
On the tab ‘Poorten’ I disabled the setting ‘Ondersteuning in twee richtingen inschakelen’.
I again instructed the HP LaserJet 1022n to print from Foxit Reader and something extraordinary happened. It printed correctly without trying to print extra pages.
From LibreOffice Writer : the same.
So, it looks like the problem is solved. I wonder what the downside is of disabling two-way communiction.
