Why is new laptop slower than old one?

So if any of you remember my last posts, my laptop died so I decided to buy a new one.

[li]One that broke (except mine was 1366x768 resolution).[/li][/ul]
Pretty much the only differences between them is:

Dell

• Touchscreen 2 in 1
• Back-lit keyboard
• 1920x1080
• 256GB SSD

Asus
-1366x768

• 1 TB Hard Disk

Issue:
My issue now is why is my Dell slower than my Asus when it comes to gaming? I have dramatically worst frame-rate on the Dell as well with the laptop getting quite hot. I even turned the resolution down to 1366x768, put taller rubber feet on the bottom for better cooling, and disabled touch screen, but I’m still getting low FPS. I only play garbage like League of Legends so that should usual run with no issues. I’m not really sure if it is a heat problem since my old laptop got pretty hot as well.

League of Legends:
Asus:
Average - 70-120 FPS
Big team fights (Lowest) - 60-70 FPS

Dell:
Average - Starts at 70-90 FPS
New average (as game goes on) - 50-70 FPS
Big team fights (Lowest) - 40-50 FPS

I’m sure you have already done so, but its the laptop in power saver mode? Also, even thought it’s new, are there any background programmes running installed by the company you bought it from?

Laptop came clean, no bloatware and yes I am on Maximum Performance Mode for Battery.

What other games have you tried.

The specs of the two computers are evenly matched with the exception of the SSD which btw will not make any difference to performance unless the games that you are playing are stored and accessed from the SSD whilst playing them.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

I only play League. League is stored on the SSD. As well I think the graphics driverr is custom because I can’t update it on Intel’s Driver Update Utility program.

Wasn`t sure if LOL was a Steam online only game and that your previous notebook may have had a better wireless device.

Both computers show they have 8GB of RAM, was that 2 X 4GB sticks in the ASUS.

Nothing untoward in Speccy only that the power plan is wrong;

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

This should be set as Balanced as High Performance is a form of overclocking that does nothing more than create more heat and can cause system instability.

Just power plan? One thing I also notice is no matter the graphic settings, my game runs pretty much the same. ultra low settings 80 FPS just more consistent, and Max settings like a 10-20 FPS loss.

The only thing that the power plan can do is cause instability.

Do drivers have anything to do with it? My laptop does have a custom graphics driver which I’m guessing lowers the performance for battery life so I’m thinking I just installing the generic intel Graphic driver.

Hope you don’t mind me butting in here but Speccy sure indicates different. Suggest you get Decrapifier and remove some. The PC Decrapifier

Lets get some info from your machine, to get things rolling.

Step 1: Reset Host File

[li]Click here to download RstHosts v2.0[/li][li]Save the file to your desktop.[/li][li]Right Click and Run as Administrator.[/li][li]Click on Restaurer, then click OK at the prompt.[/li][li]This will restore the default host file.[/li][li]Next Click on Creer Un Rapport.[/li][li]This will open a logfile, post that in your next reply.[/li][/ul]

Step 2: MiniToolBox Scan

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:

Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)

Click Go post the result.

Step 3: Autoruns Scan.

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe
After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save
The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.txt under the file type option.
in other words make sure it is a .txt file instead of .arn Attach the text in your next reply.

Step 4: HijackThis.

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.
2- Run the program.
3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.
4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.
5- Copy paste the log here.

Since this is a new machine, you can use Decrap My Computer. Let it run in automatic mode.

This is a different software than what @gus posted. This tool will run fully in automatic mode. Removing ALL crap…
