Causes of Code 12 (Error 12)
[ul]
[li]Incorrectly configured, old, or corrupted device drivers. (very common)[/li][li]Corruption in Windows registry from a recent software change (install or uninstall).[/li][li]Virus or malware infection that has corrupted Windows system files or related drivers.[/li][li]Driver conflict after installing new hardware.[/li][li]Faulty hardware.[/li][/ul]Comment

Well, I know that it couldnβt be a virus or malware, because I have Malwarebytes Premium Software with the internet exploit protector,
which is amazing. I do know that I looked at defragmentation, and it said it was checking every day. The version of the driver dates back to 2006, soβ¦ yeah. I havent had any installations recently so i know that, that canβt be it.Comment

A code 10 is set because something is keeping the device drivers from starting the device. This is a laptop correct? May I ask for the model of the laptop? Your issue is most likely a hardware problem. It could be as simple as the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard has come loose or the keyboard needs replaced. It may be possible to reset the BIOS to their default setting to get the keyboard to function again. If the keyboard does not work during the boot process then it is a hardware issue since the basic keyboard functions are hard coded in the BIOS.Comment

It is an Acer - Aspire 1 Cloudbook 14. Also the Fn key along with F# keys work on the board. Also it would be wonderful to know how to reset the BIOSComment

Rusty asked this in post #2 and you never answered him
Have you tried using the keyboard to see if you can access the BIOS and navigate?
If they keyboard is non-functioning even before Windows loads, youβll need to disassemble it and check if the keyboard connector is off or damaged.Comment

Knowing that I am inexperienced at disassembly, is there any sort of walk through on how i can do that?Comment
