The only thing that is really plugged in is my logitech mouse. Everything else is built in.

Not that I can think of. other than there being an error with power , and then laptop crashing before the reboot.

Well, I know that it couldn’t be a virus or malware, because I have Malwarebytes Premium Software with the internet exploit protector,
which is amazing. I do know that I looked at defragmentation, and it said it was checking every day. The version of the driver dates back to 2006, so… yeah. I havent had any installations recently so i know that, that can’t be it.

A code 10 is set because something is keeping the device drivers from starting the device. This is a laptop correct? May I ask for the model of the laptop? Your issue is most likely a hardware problem. It could be as simple as the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard has come loose or the keyboard needs replaced. It may be possible to reset the BIOS to their default setting to get the keyboard to function again. If the keyboard does not work during the boot process then it is a hardware issue since the basic keyboard functions are hard coded in the BIOS.

It is an Acer - Aspire 1 Cloudbook 14. Also the Fn key along with F# keys work on the board. Also it would be wonderful to know how to reset the BIOS

Since Acer is not responding to my inquiries I can only go by the old Acer Aspire 1 service manual I have. Getting to the BIOS reset jumper means doing a partial disassembly of your laptop. If the function keys are working then pressing F2 at POST should take you to the BIOS settings. Unfortunately I can not tell you whether there is a BIOS default setting there. Are you using some accessibility features in windows such as OnScreen Keyboard? These setting may override hardware setting in Windows. Forgive me but I do not have any further information at this time.

Rusty asked this in post #2 and you never answered him
Have you tried using the keyboard to see if you can access the BIOS and navigate?
So the keys don’t work even when you first turn on the computer? That means there is no way you can get into the BIOS.

If they keyboard is non-functioning even before Windows loads, you’ll need to disassemble it and check if the keyboard connector is off or damaged.

Knowing that I am inexperienced at disassembly, is there any sort of walk through on how i can do that?

Hopefully these vids are close enough for you to get an idea for removal of the laptop and check those power ribbons…
