Side panel on - PC doesn’t even boot?
What is actually pressing against the side cover, the heat sink, or a fan?

If there are no animals or small children around leaving the side of the case is fine, many people do this in countries where the temps get really high.
I personally wouldn’t purchase a new case to resolve this as there are other ways around it other than the already advised by Peter and Bruce respectively.Comment
