I’m running a p c with Linux and windows dual boot on separate drives. I can boot and single beep from post indicating all is well. However if I do a restart from either system the post gives one long and 3 shot beeps and fails to boot.
post problem only on reset

depending on your BIOS version, 1 long 3 short beeps usually points to memory or video card issues.
see here; https://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#ami
let’s get your PC specs.
get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.
One component Speccy doesn’t cover is the Power Supply Unit, so please also include the make/model of the PSU. -

power supply is a 450 watt LPKS(-25 salvaged from I don’t know where. serial number0804001381, I don’t know if any of that makes any sense.
Windows did an update and restart. I got the short beep from post to indicate o k followed immediatley by 1x long 3 x shortComment

it’ll be a hardware issue.
take out the 3 memory sticks and clean their circuit board, contacts and motherboard slots using a soft bristle brush.
there are mixed sticks in that bunch, so only reseat the ones that were in slot 3 and 4, as they seem to be the same.
also, see if there is a firmware update to your 6 year old BIOS.
and disconnect the second SSD, only leaving the C:\ drive connected.Comment
