Hi, I have the following message displayed " USB Device Over Current Status Detected! " and the computer shuts down after 15s. Prior to that, PC would not post at all, and after testing each component separatley(aside from MOBO and CPU), somehow it managed to boot but American Megatrends screen appears so I can not even enter BIOS. The mothearboard is Asus Prime Z270-P. It is also still lighting orange, which is why I do not know if it is faulty or not. Even after I took it out of the case and NOT A SINGLE USB DEVICE was connected, it still shows this error. I would like to know what you think, is Motherboard potentionally dead?

One of the possible causes of this problem is your USB devices plugged in. So to see if your USB devices are at fault, here is what you can do:- Turn your computer off. And unplug your computer from the wall as well.
- Make sure you have disconnect all your USB devices from your computer, especially the ones on the front USB ports on your system unit.
- Remove the case of your system unit.
- Detach the front USB plug from your motherboard.

5) There! Your problem should be gone. Try to restart your computer and see if it happens again.- To avoid similar problems from happening again, you should try to avoid using the front USB ports. Instead, you should use the back ones more often, and they provide stronger electricity support to your USB devices as well.

there should be a transient voltage suppressor near your usb port/ports aka diode
if you have a multimeter power off the pc wait 5 mins then on diode mode place one lead on the anode and one on the cathode observe reading and reverse leads you should get about .5 volts one way and zero the other if not the diode is bad and needs replacing.
