    Games Crash Memtest86 error

    So my games like Apex and Modern Warfare have been crashing randomly. I tried a gpu and cpu test both seemed fine. I did a memtest86 and there was 2 errors on Test 6: Cpu 8. Anyone know what the errors mean ? is it bad ram or bad Cpu ? I tested both rams alone and there was no error, when put together there was an error.

        You will need to attach the file so we can see it we do not have access to your computer.

                Are you hyper threading and does your cpu support that? Try one stick at a time to see if a mem stick is bad. Is your bio’s set at default?

                  My bios is set at default other than my ram, my ram is 3200mhz ram, the default bios sets it a like 2300mhz or something around there. I’ve tried tested the sticks individually and they both passed. The only time it fails is when the sticks are put in together. That’s what makes me think it’s the sticks. My brother has the exact same build same parts, his pc runs perfectly fine.

                    You need to provide information about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

                        Couple of things regarding your specs, RAM first;

                        That is the wrong RAM for your CPU, Intel state here up to 2666MHz and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC fall over.

                        Go into the BIOS, disable XMP and then manually set the RAM to run at 2666MHz and the voltage to 1.35V.

                        You should also make sure that the Windows Power Plan is set to Balanced and not High Performance.

                        That PSU should not be used anywhere near a PC that has anything more than the most basic of add on GPU, labelled as 750W while it can`t even quite produce the 650W that is recommended for your GPU, you need a minimum of a Gold efficiency rated PSU from either Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic.

                        Which power supply do you need?

                          it’s very strange to me because my brother has the exact same build and he doesn’t see any of the errors i do, i will try what you said and do another memtest86 see if it fails.

                            That is odd but can I ask why you haven’t tried your RAM in your brothers machine and likewise why have you not tried your brothers RAM in your computer.

                            There is a perfectly good reason for that, one stick of RAM can only work in single channel at 1066MHZ because the one stick cannot be overclocked, put two sticks in and dual channel gets activated and the RAM when XMP is active gets overclocked to the maximum speed that it is capable of.
