There is a perfectly good reason for that, one stick of RAM can only work in single channel at 1066MHZ because the one stick cannot be overclocked, put two sticks in and dual channel gets activated and the RAM when XMP is active gets overclocked to the maximum speed that it is capable of.

So should i set the ram to 2666mhz or 1066mhz ?

alr, the test just finished and there was no errors. How much slower will it be if i leave it at 2666 mhz ? is there anyway i can make it faster ? I don’t get how my cpu can only handle 2666mhz. Can my cpu handle all 4 slots at 2666mhz ?

If your pc will run correctly at 3200 then leave it.. That’s a sweet spot for gaming.

No harm in doing so for now but you are not out of the woods yet, remember it is not me that says that 2666MHz is the max for the CPU it is Intel.
