        Speccy confirms what the MTB log suggests, Windows is broken and possibly because it has never been updated or even had the required drivers installed since day one.

        We may get lucky and be able to repair this but before we try, can I ask the below;

        Was Windows 10 a clean install back in 2020,if yes, from where was the Windows installation media obtained.

          I am not quite sure. I think at that time I already had problems with the computer and had support from windows itself. So therefore I think I reinstalled it with a media that they gave me. Could that be possible? I’m sorry I really can’t remember. I don’t even know what a “clean” install is?

            How did Windows 10 come to end up on the computer.

            Has it always been Windows 10 or did you upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7.

            Have you ever purchased and activated a Windows 10 licence key on this computer.

            Because Windows is not and never has been able to update since Installation Date: 29.04.2020 it makes your version of Windows look to be illegal, one of the first things that happens with pirate versions of Windows is Microsoft blocks the computer concerned from being able to update.

              I really don’t remember. I think I updated to windows 10, but I’m pretty sure that I didn’t download it illegaly. Can I not proceed without that information?

                You are making this more difficult than it needs to be.

                You can download Windows 10 100% for free and 100% legitimately but to be able to keep it updated you need to purchase a Windows 10 product key and then register it With Microsoft.

                You can but if your OS is not legal Windows will not be able to be repaired and the computer be stuck the way that it is now until you purchase a new Windows 10 licence key.

                I am trying to save you time, trouble and grief here but to be able to do so we need to know the full story.

                  Yes and I’m really thankful for that. I try to save time too but I really can not remember the full story. I have no way to find out how it ended up on the computer. Can I not somehow delete this windows and reinstall a new version?

                    We can try doing a repair but only as long as you are aware and accept that if Windows gets detected as being non legit by Microsoft you will have to purchase a new product key from them.

                      Ok yes I am aware and I accept that. Then, how do I proceed?

                        Download then run the Windows All in One Repair tool from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.

                          Ok, so I have to temporarily disable my anti-virus and I find a lot of information on how to do this on different types of programs, but how do I know which one I have?
