PC freezes everytime after 60 seconds

Hello,
so I have this problem with my computer since a couple of months. First, it only crashed sometimes. But then it got a lot worse to the point where I can now switch it on, everything works for approximately 60 seconds and then it freezes to the point where I have to manually turn it off. I am no expert with computers and have no clue what I should do. I have the feeling that it is a hardware problem because I have already rebooted the computer once. But I don’t know what part of my computer could be creating those problems.
I would be thankful if someone had a clue to what part of the computer could be causing this?

get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds

in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

You have two major issues that we can see for sure but so we can check a possible third can you post the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

What we can see for sure, Windows has not been updated since it was installed more than a year and a half ago, this is bad because we have no way of knowing if the OS is legit and is real bad because you are at risk of malware attack every time you use the PC on line.

Second major issue and something that will stop you from being able to correct the first, you are low on free storage space on C: which means that there is no room for any Windows updates to go + if not already happening Windows risks becoming corrupted.

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 29.04.2020 15:38:26

Partition 2
Partition ID: Disk #1, Partition #2
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: D6E33DCD
Size: 475 GB
Used Space: 429 GB (90%)
Free Space: 46 GB (10%)

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available on a HDD and an SSD between 10 and 15% as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Troubleshooting computer problems is also a waste of time when it is known that Windows is out of date as any one of a number of the missing hot fixes could be the solution to any problem that you may be having.

Uninstall as many unused programs, games, videos and music files as you can and get yourself another means of backing up to, post back when you have between 25 and 30% free storage on the C: drive/partition and we can go from there.

Okay, so my PSU is a Cooler Master Model NO.: RS-600-ACAB-B, 600W. Exactly like this I found on the internet: https://media.karousell.com/media/ph...rogressive.jpg .

For the moment, the computer seems to be running fine again for some reason, but I will do what you said and clear out some storage to update my windows. Because I’m sure the problems haven’t been fixed.

Is there a way to clear out everything I have on the computer at once? I have had so many problems now and I don’t have anything important on it.

Being that the PSU is potentially almost nine years old you are lucky that the one you have is one of the last ones were CM used decent parts, the PSU is some six years out of warranty and not even Bronze efficiency rated so best suggestion if you intend to keep this PC going for a while longer get yourself a 500W Bronze efficiency rated PSU from either EVGA or Seasonic, do not use Corsair bronze as Corsair themselves do not advise that their Bronze range of PSUs be used for anything more than entry level desktops that only have integrated graphics.

Just delete anything on the C:drive that is not Windows related, post back when you have about 250GB free and we can go from there.

NB: You must do the exact steps suggested as we must make sure that you are able to start updating Windows before we clean the whole drive.

Okay yes I know the computer is really old. I’m gonna try to delete enough things, but it’s gonna take some time because the computer keeps freezing. And I’ve noticed something else: Every three or four times I start the computer, a blue screen with the message: “Restoration” comes up, that says that windows couldn’t load properly.

It shouldn[ICODE]t take too long and if your were able to run Speccy deleting stuff should be real quick, if it isn[/ICODE]t you may have hardware issues.

Manually check for and install any Windows 10 updates

The updates won’t download on their own and I don’t know how I can manually download them. I already googled it, restarted the computer, tried to chance settings, but nothing seems to work…

Ok so there was an update but I had to repair a problem first. After I clicked that it prepared the update and 3 more updates came up, the ones you can see in the photo. But they won’t download on their own. It only says: Status: update outstanding. They are ready to download, but they don’t download themselves.

Post a new Speccy url + a MTB log for us;

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.
