All games keep crashing, something might be corrupted (not due to steam or any of the games)

So my biggest issue is I’m unsure what this problem even is. To give a quick recap of my agonizing 24 hour experience, let’s start off with the main issue

I cannot play any steam games.

Basically anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour (the longest i ever got was an hour 30 i believe), my game crashes. Sometimes, it just freezes and crashes, other times a Unity loading bar appears and then it crashes. https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...797&height=448

I spent 12 hours trying to fix it and coulnt do anything. On that day I got 3 BSODs, two of which were back to back. After the back to back, windows opened me up in advanced startup and advised me to clean files. I factory reset, and my games still seem to be crashing. (No BSODs atm though.)

I’ve never overclocked my pc to my knowledge, and have ran sfc, dmis, and chkdsk, none of which fixed the problem. Chkdsk however did say it was repairing local disk C.
To my knowledge all my drivers are updated, and I honestly have no clue how to proceed forward.
Everyone I’ve talked to and Steam support tell me it’s an issue with my pc and not steam.

I’m not tech savvy at all. Before reseting I was completely current on every windows update, now I’m not since apparently windows updates can cause this (wtf), but downloading them, according to previous experience, will fix nothing.
I’m frustrated and have never owned a pc before, just a laptop(which also broke but I treated that much worse than my pc and it took over 6 years so that’s a win in my books)
I’ve only this pc for, i dont know, 6 months? I really need someone to throw me a bone.[/IMG]

Have you tried uninstalling Steam & reinstalling it? Same question with the games.
Ensure the PC’s fans are free of dust & fluff as overheating may be causing the problem.
As chkdsk has fixed some problems there may be a HD problem, download the trial version of Hard Disk Sentinel:

If this shows Caution or Bad then I’d image the drive immediately & replace it asap.

Can you provide the specs for your PC - Graphics card/s, Processor etc?
If you’re running nVidia graphics then check their website for any updates.

Was this done since you reinstalled the operating system?

with the request of the spec that @Bastet requested what is the make and model of the power supply unit.

Could be that something may have just came loose and needs to be reconnected.

Yes I’ve tried reinstalling Steam and the game multiple times. I weekly spray the fans with dust remover to attempt to avoid this problems.

Sorry I’ve made so many posts about this I’ve forgot to re-add my specs. Here they are (Also how do I know if my driver needs an update? Before my reboot my brother made me install GeForce experience but I heard that can mess up your drivers)

GTX 970 4gb
Biostar a320mh

128gb ssd
500gb hdd

On the unregistered version of Hard Disk Sentinel, it says my performance and health are 100% “excellent”

I don’t know about my make and model of my psu, I just have a list of my components I was sent after it was made and it only said “500w 80+ psu” so if that helps, then great. If it doesn’t, how do I find out my make and model, and how do I check if something needs to be reconnected?
(also i sent the full list of my specs in one of the replies)

Open the system and get the information that is on the sticker on the side of the power supply unit.

Since the system is 6 months old I would suggest that you contact them sometimes opening the case can cause the warranty to be voided.

Ok so did not know what a psu was and sent you this photo. I don’t think I can access my psu with the way my computer is. It is EVGA 500w 80+

The latest nVidia driver was released in June:
471.11 WHQL
Release Date: 2021.6.22
UK: Driver Details | NVIDIA
US: Driver Details | NVIDIA

I use the GeForce experience & it’s fine for me. It’s just a way to automatically download the latest drivers.

Ok after installing GeForce Experience and updating to the latest driver (which it seemed like I already had) I still crashed.

Are the games compatible with your pc?
Does your pc meet the minimum requirements?
Are you running any third party antivirus software?
My game was running great on windows 8(As good as it could run in it's current state) but when I upgraded to Windows 10, the game was crashing every 5-10 minutes and other games were crashing too. Here's what I did, I hope it helps you guys out too. 1. Change Physx device to your GPU. (Change it with Nvidia Control panel) 2. Run Steam as Admin 3. Run Game as Admin 4.

My PC meets all the requirements for every game, I use window defender and have already double checked to make sure the games and steam is exempt from the firewall, I verified local game files, I already talked to steam support as well.(I’ve also already followed all steps of that article, and this does not only apply to steam games, but all games including things like minecraft and roblox. I never would have noticed if my nephews didn’t come to visit). This was their full message
"If your games still crash after following the suggestions in the article, it sounds like there are underlying issues with your machine that need to be addressed before we can properly troubleshoot individual game issues here at Steam Support. We can only suggest reaching out to a local PC technician to further troubleshoot as issues like these require direct access to your machine, which is a level of assistance we simply cannot attain here at Steam Support.

I’m sorry we can’t be of more help with this."

You can try clean installing the graphics driver using DDU:
Wagnardsoft: Computer PC Software tools. Home of Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)

If the problem remains then check the framerate of the games. Do they drop to a very low number or remain constant.
Try running the games as admin right click on the game’s .exe & choose run as admin.
Ensure you have the KB4598291 update installed as this fixed a bug with Windows crashing while playing games:
