Hi all. Iam updating my CPU to a Phenom ii x6 1090T. I need to update the bios. Tried installing and running Bios version F5 from Gigabyte site, but it will not run. Can someone help and tell me why. thanks
what error are you getting when upgrading the BIOS?
Hi. thanks for replying. It says Support for Socket AM3/ AM2+/ AM2 processors. The Phenom ii x6 is AM3 so I thought it would be the right one. Not getting an error message. when I click run, a black window flashes up and disappears.
Have to agree with @Bruce that processor is not supported. Referring to where it states processor no where does it state a [COLOR=rgb(243, 121, 52)]ii X6
What I would suggest that you contact Gigabyte and confirm that it is and or is not supported by that motherboard.
Bit of a long shot but can you put the previously used CPU back in place, then update the bios? After the bios is updated try your new CPU, and if it works it’s all good, if not refer to posts 3 and 5.
I dont know yet. Got to wait for my friend to install it. Oh i didnt know RAM has to be compatable as well. Hope it is. I only wanted to play the new Age of Empires game. Its cost me £200 so far just to play a £15 game!
Thanks for the update, we can[ICODE]t leave threads open indefinitely so if we don[/ICODE]t hear back from you in a few days we will again ask for an update from you.
Decided to buy a new case. Got the Corsair Spec Delta. Checked to make sure it was compatable with the motherboard, it is. Trying to fit motherboard myself but cant figure out where the RGB splitter cable connects. Any help would be great.
