I don’t know why there’s Nvidia software on it. I didn’t install it after I had my computer reset.

I couldn’t figure out how to edit my post on neither my phone or computer. I know there is an option to edit, but sometimes it lets me and sometimes it doesn’t.

It was a game from Newgrounds website.

Do you have any games on disk that you can try rather than playing ones via the internet, this to rule in or out the internet and/or wireless device as the cause.

Would having my GPU plugged into my computer cause that Nvidia software to be installed? Because I did have my GeForce Gtx 1070 plugged in when I reset my windows. It lasts longer in between freezes as well if it’s plugged in.

Is it bad to completely reset Windows a couple times if I need to? I don’t want to be resetting again to get another blank slate if that’s the case.

Likewise it was asked that you did not refit the GPU while we were troubleshooting but fwiw there are only two ways that the drivers could have gotten on the computer, a human installed them or Windows installed them when it updated, check your installed updates in Speccy and you will note that Windows has not installed any Nvidea drivers at all since Windows was installed on 11/19/2019 so I for one can`t explain their presence.

Can you stick to addressing what was included in my reply #33 for now;

I want to make sure I’m doing this properly, so I will attach a picture of the DDU screen that I see. I get nervous when doing large computer altering that requires running in safe mode and such and having help videos not have the specific scenario that I’m in so that it varies slightly.

I know to run DDU in safe mode, but I’m not sure if this is what I need to be doing. I’m guessing with the correct options picked, I’ll be selecting clean and restart?

Just uninstalled the Nvidia software and now waiting to see if it still freezes.

Is that the software needed to run my add-on GPU? And if it is, what would I do when I want to use a better GPU than the AMD Radeon Vega?

If you do not know how the Nvidea software got on your computer it is not possible for us to even hazard a guess as to what the software was tbh.

If wanting to use an add on video card you try the latest drivers for the card and see how it goes, any problems you use DDU to uninstall the drivers and then try the previous version, once you have stable drivers installed you create a new system restore point and block Windows from installing any future driver updates for the GPU, I may have post the following in your previous thread but if not below is my canned info regarding driver updates etc.

Once Windows has been installed, you install the necessary drivers for the MB and other hardware and then leave well alone, drivers should not be allowed to auto update and you should never update any driver/s unless the new drivers are intended to resolve a specific issue that you are having, installing new drivers unnecessarily can actually cause you the very issues that any new drivers are intended to resolve and uninstalling the new drivers may not resolve the problem/s that installing the new drivers has caused.

Depending on priority it can take many months before the driver provider releases any fix and they sometimes do not even bother.

You have to use the computer to see if it crashes when there is no add on GPU fitted.

It froze on me when I was watching a YouTube video and that was it. I wasn’t running anything else besides YouTube. It also seems to happen in bursts. Every long stint of it not freezing, the first time it does, the following 2 or 3 will happen in the next 10-15 minutes. As I was writing this response, it froze on me again. I don’t know if it’s important or not so I thought I’d include it.

Also, after I restarted, an error message popped up saying:
“The code execution cannot proceed because OpenCL.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”

The first is typical of something overheating and the second is most often related to GPU drivers which in this instance are for the RX Vega 11, you can download the drivers from here

Trying to download the drivers I can only find the Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56 drivers and I don’t know which one mine matches.

What should be the next course for the freezing problem? Is it time to try out a new PSU or MB?

To get the correct drivers you have to enter all of the CPU details in each of the four fields at the link and then click on the SUBMIT tab, did you do this.

You need to get the correct drivers installed before worrying about anything else.
