So today I tried connecting a third to screen to my pc using a vga to hdmi adapter. My pc started blowing hard and the screen went black. So I restated and now it shows this…
Have you tried plugging in the monitor to onboard graphics, removing the PCI-E power connectors from the video card, and seeing if there’s video to rule out a bad video card?
Haven’t tried yet, and it’s with whatever screen I use. Tried hdmi displayport and dvi. I’m on school atm, after school I can try what you told me. Need some more explanation tho..
The white line you’re experiencing means one of two things: either a bad monitor or a bad video card.
Removing power to the video card and using on-board graphics will determine which is bad. If everything goes back to normal when plugged into onboard video (video ports on the motherboard), it means a bad video card. If it stays the same, it’s a bad monitor.
Did you always ensure the cables were secure and nothing was loose?
