    2nd pc prob

hi again everyone my other computer is also a Dell Inspiron 2330 w/ core i7 Windows 8 upgraded to 8.1. The problem with this one is when I start it once it gets to the Dell logo screen it never gets past it just stays there looking liked it rants to boot but never does. It will eventually shutdown after awhile.

    Hi cristoff,

If it turns off, it sounds like it might be overheating. Are you able to boot into Safe Mode?

There is a difference between a computer turbning off/shut down and one that goes to sleep/hibernate.

It might just be that it hibernates.

You need to look at the lights.

Is this an all-in-one computer? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...30-aio/drivers

It was in fact hibernating…I went through the BIOS stuff as best I could, some things weren’t as the tutorial suggested but still stuck on the Dell logo…I also ran the ePSA everything passed except the harddrive, error code 2000-0142…

Are both systems then reporting the same error?

Yes they are… And I reseated them as you advised, still 2000-0142. I have run chkdsk on computer “1” and it cannot get past 10% on the scan and repair on reboot. I will try to run it on computer “2”…

                Sorry to hear that.

Do you have data on the drives that you want to retrieve?

What did the chknfts /t:0 reveal.
