The system is just old, you need to re install the operating system. At this point if you fix one thing another is likely to go out. We could keep chasing things down, but I believe at this point things are just too corrupt all around and complete format and reinstall is needed.

Or at least create a new admin account.

All of the errors are related to the WMI Did you carry out the full repair[listed here?](‘http:// https://support.quest.com/vworkspace/kb/88861’)

          Hi M,
Sorry for not replying to your update requests but I didn’t receive any email notifications on the thread… unless they started going to spam.
Anyways, the solution is as you say, to reinstall the OS / factory reset or may be install Linux. At least the laptop is working well enough to transfer the necessary files to another drive.

          Much appreciated.

What is the program I can run to uninstall all the various malware software used to clean the PC ?

          thanks again,
          Paul

              Thanks for the software tips.
I’m trying out Qihoo 360 Total Security A/V and it flagged Delfix with a Trojan. Would you say it’s a false positive, incorrect analysis of the file ? The Delfix file wasn’t flagged when Panda A/V was installed.

Any thoughts on Qihoo 360 Total Security ? I’ve read reports that this Chinese based firm uses spying software.
Also, I’m currently using Adguard Adblocker. Is uBlock Origin preferable? If so, why?
              Thanks.

It is a false positive, as far as Qihoo it is fine IMO

Ublock is fine to ad along side Adguard…
