So I’ve just been locked out of my facebook account for ‘abnormal activity’. I should say I seldom use it.
After the email confirmation, I’m asked to upload some photo ID, passport etc, which sounds like a scam. A tour of the net yielded nothing so I wonder whether there’s anyone here can help?

Hi, thanks for your help. I’ve never given away this info before so I feel very nervous about it. But if you’re telling me it’s safe, then I’ll look at it and get back to you.
I for one would not be uploading photos or passport info.
That stuff isn’t needed when creating the account so I see no need for it anytime down the track.
I haven’t got around to that yet. As far as facebook is concerned, I’ve opened a new account on another device, since I have no intention of uploading my photo ID. That gets me what I need. So I think you can close this thread now. Thanks to everyone for their help.
