Win 11 Pro- New device via ethernet and adapter settings

Hi. I’m assuming this is some kind of networking Q.
I have a new device (a hobby cnc machine) with an ethernet cable. My desktop (win11Pro) port is connected to my ISP router. The device is plugged into a spare port on the router.
The device has a specific IP address. The only way I have been able to connect with the device is by switching the Internet Protocol to the device IP (see pic).
This means I LOSE the internet. Its a massive pain to keep switching and my device needs internet access sometimes.
Can some one help me have my PC connected to the internet and my device simultaneously. That would help my day

Is the device and the pc on the same ip range?
    E>G 192.168.0.*** or 10.0.0.***
From the desktop can you ping the device.

Click on the alternative tab(in your pic) and put in 192.168.251.5 (unless the device is using 5) these are internal address’s so it would have been easier if you had posted the whole address.
Leave the standard as what is needed for the internet
        Test

Open an elevated command prompt by hitting the Windows key and choosing either command or terminal as admin.
Once the prompt is open, type ipconfig /all then Enter.
Copy and paste the output here please.

So I had a troubleshooter window- But this seemed to do nothing when retrying. I have tried alternative IP addresses in the Alternative Configuration, but to no avail- heres the latest.
I do access the IP when i force it on the general IP page, so I’m assuming it works.
                What next? Thx

What happens when you tic the circle that says obtain DNS automatically? Or if you must have it on manual try 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 in the DNS server section.

                    I would try
                    192.168.251.1
                    255.255.255.0
                    192.168.0.1
                    If no luck
And we assume you cannot Change the ip of the cnc - have you tried? - If not sure supply make and model.
The other option is to change the modem/router to output the same ip range 192.168.251.***

I cannot test this at this time. But should work in theory
Go back to your network adapter
and take out the alternate address.
On the general tab input your ip address for the internet.
                          Fill all in including DNS
Then click on advanced and add the ip address 192.168.251.1 subnet 255.255.255.0
                          Save and exit.
                          Try ping.
