Downloaded Thunderbird mail three days ago and have been trying to import mail from Hotmail. I manage just fine until I receive the following message, βUnable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, User Name or Passwordβ
Am not an expert and tried everything I can find. Help!!!
It would help if you gave the version of Thunderbird you are using.
The only answer we can give you is the same as Thunderbird.
Your username= your Hotmail address
Password = the pw used to log into Hotmail
Go to Settings-bottom left of page
Go to Server settings
Make sure username is set to your Hotmail address. Example: musicguy@hotmail.com.
Also on that page at the bottom left is a setting
Add-ons and themes
Click on that
Try the ImportExportToolsNg and see if that helps.
Am getting really confused and must give it a rest for now. This has consumed me for four daysβΉοΈ Sorry to use the age card, but Iβm 91 and my brain needs a rest.

Did you setup Hotmail in Thunder as Pop or imap.
If you set it up as a pop account.
Then you have to set your Hotmail account as Pop
Or
Set the account up again as imap

Set Hotmail as imap. I can get Hotmail account from TB, never tried sending.
