Iβve just moved into a house share, and have got the wifi set up fine. However, I would ideally like to be able to use ethernet for gaming etc. The problem is there are multiple Ethernet ports next to each other and Iβm confused as to which one to use. Iβm also assuming that it doesnβt matter that they say βBTβ on them. Next to the virgin router, there are two ethernet boxes. One says BT openreach and looks very new with two ports next to each other. One has a picture of a router, and the other has a telephone. However, the other box says βntlβ and has an ethernet port with another ntl box next to it thatβs actually connected to the router.
In my room there is a BT ethernet port, and a βCableTelβ ethernet port with a box next to it. Which of any of these do I plug my ethernet cables into? Iβve attached images.
