Which is the correct ethernet port to use?

I’ve just moved into a house share, and have got the wifi set up fine. However, I would ideally like to be able to use ethernet for gaming etc. The problem is there are multiple Ethernet ports next to each other and I’m confused as to which one to use. I’m also assuming that it doesn’t matter that they say β€œBT” on them. Next to the virgin router, there are two ethernet boxes. One says BT openreach and looks very new with two ports next to each other. One has a picture of a router, and the other has a telephone. However, the other box says β€œntl” and has an ethernet port with another ntl box next to it that’s actually connected to the router.

In my room there is a BT ethernet port, and a β€œCableTel” ethernet port with a box next to it. Which of any of these do I plug my ethernet cables into? I’ve attached images.

As others have asked on the other forums that you asked on.

with out seeing what you do it is kind of hard for me to say. Posting pictures would be helpful.

can’t see any attached images…

but in short, whatever RJ45 port that works is the correct one, surely.
that’s the thing with ethernet ports, you can’t **** things up and no damage can be done.
they either work or they don’t.
even if they are PoE, you won’t hurt your gear.
