On the GSI INSTALL, num 2, I tried to do that this morning. A green bar starts and goes to 100% and it says the same thing, do i want to replace the John Desktop file. I say yes. As i said the bar goes to 100% and at the bottom it says restart. I click restart and then the green bar starts all over again and when that gets to 100% it again says restart and over and over again. I dont think its working. Ona good note, the cursor hasnt frozen and the comp shut off since i made this thread. Could the new keyboard have helped?

You don’t need that folder open like you have shown, I can see the Zip folder of the GSI info on your desktop.
Start your browser and go to the link provided in post #2, here it is again; https://www.getsysteminfo.com/
In your browser window, hold down the Start button on the keyboard then click the right arrow key.
That will β€˜snap’ the browser to the right, ands now you can see the GSI folder on the desktop on the left.
          Now drag it across.

But yeah, the keyboard sticky key could have been the culprit.
If it had a stuck E or arrow key or something, you would have seen the side effects, so it may have been a Fn key or something else that had no outwardly obvious effect.

The GSI report is sort of irrelevant now, but maybe do it just for experience, plus I’ll go through it and see if anything obvious pops out.

Is this what you are looking for?

Kaspersky GetSystemInfo (GSI) Parser allows you to check and fix PC compatibility issues between Kaspersky products and other software. Troubleshoot with Kaspersky GSI Parser!

Actually what i did, being so brilliant, was just make the screen smaller and there was just enough of the GSI thing to the left i was able to drag it, lol

I was reading thru some other threads to find some helpful info.

Did my speccy report show any high temps? I need to figure out how to open the comp and get the dust out eventually. Should i make a new thread on that in the future?

Speccy showed 30degress on the motherboard and 40degress on the processor.
                  Very normal, even below average.

Congrats on the GSI report - just what was ordered. (y)
Report was pretty bland in the end - which is what we want.

I think we can close this thread now, especially if you have had no more issues.
And yes, open a new one for the dust cleanup help, that way other members who search for issues will see one thread per issue.

Sure, go ahead and close it. The issue hasnt occured since I started the thread. I will start a new thread for cleaning the dust soon. Thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated.

@Where do i find the temps on the Speccy report? I might want to check the temps from time to time. Thanks

You’ll find them in the very first section, under Summary.
There are usually more, under Graphics, and Storage, but these weren’t shown in your report, guess the motherboard was too old, didn’t have those sensors, or Speccy couldn’t get the info.

Speccy can continually show the temperature for you.
In Speccy, click View, Options, System Tray, tick Minimise to tray, tick Display metrics in tray, change output to CPU, change Sensor to Average, and tell it to refresh, say, every 30secs.
Tick Run Speccy in tray when computer starts.
Now instead of closing Speccy (top right x), minimise it (the _ ).

You should now see the current temperature in the system tray (bottom right).
