Disk Managment never loads?
#1- Make sure you donβt have other Disks plugged in via USB. If you do, unplug them all and then try Disk Managment.
#2- Hit start, type services and hit enter. Look for VDS or Virtual Disk Services, right click it and stop it and start it again. If disabled, enable and reboot.
Let us know. -

That may be why then if the drive was not removed correctly.
Has the system been rebooted (not shut down)?
See if that clears it up if not there is a program that may help and or we can just have you manually remove it for the drive list in Device Manager.Comment

Thanks everyone for your replies. I did a RESTART, instead of the regular shut down etc. It looks like the problem is resolved. If I now type disk management, it DOES load where I can partition the disks etc. Many thanks to all who offered suggestions, MikeComment
