The HDD is failing and that is why you had problems getting Windows 7 to install.
Second suggestion, get your dad an external USB HDD to save save a back up image and his important data to, the sector count and high temperature readings are warning you of impending HDD failure.
well he has one external HDD and backs up things…but not so regularly…he is a doctor and very busy with his daily job…the important data includes his case photos only…but the thing is he keeps forgetting to back up things…
now to the important point..what can be done to stop this HDD from failing?

Nothing I`m afraid, a failing HDD is a lost cause and the sooner that the drive is replaced the better, this would have been suggested once we had secured your data had we known the condition of the drive but without checking we had no way of knowing, now that we do know that the drive is flaky we can advise you how to best deal with that if you wish.
Oh okay…no problem…anyway I was thinking of gifting my dad a new laptop or mobile phone…and he doesn’t use those things very often…so no issues…anyway…thank you so much for all the help and information you provided…much appreciated
