    That is great news and a job well done on your behalf (y)

    A quick check for you to do, restart the notebook while continually tapping the F11 key to see if there is a recovery partition present.

        Can you restart and try the F10 key instead of F11.

        If you have a spare USB thumb drive see info at Windows 7 Recovery Disk and Repair Disc Download

            No recovery partition

            Windows 7 ISO download from here

            You will need a 4GB or above USB thumb drive and the product key for Windows that is installed on the problem computer.

                      Tried installing windows 7…but its stuck at the begining…chose the language then hit install windows…but the process is stuck at “setup is starting”
                      plz let me know is there anything I could do for a smoother installation…i waited about 7-8 hrs in this stage to let the PC process this…but it seems like its stuck there only..

                              Thanks

                              First suggestion is we take a look at the health of the HDD in case there is a problem with it that may explain the long install time.

                              Download and run CrystalDisk info standard edition from here

                              Run the program, grab any screenshots and attach to your next reply for us.

                              To capture and post a screenshot;

                              Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start…all programs…accessories…paint…left click in the white area …press CTRL + V…click on file…click on save…save it to your desktop…name it something related to the screen your capturing… BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG …otherwise it may be to big to upload… after typing in any response you have… click on Upload a File to add the screenshot.

                              Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

                                Hii Ad!
                                here is the screenshot of the system…
                                well to clarify last 2 posts…it did not take 7-8 hours to install…it was stuck there. so I installed the linux os again…cleaned the drives…formatted all the drive to ntfs then tried to install windows…and it worked…but i know this pc is not in a usable condition…it has 2 gb ram, 300gb HDD, pentium dual core processor with 32 bit win dows 7…but again its my dad’s laptop…and he wont change it coz it works fine for him. so…

                                Now plz let me know the second suggestion…
