Hello.
Gigabyte ga-b85-hd3.
built in - Realtek high definition Audio.
Windows 7.
Headset with microphone.
So I woke up this morning and I found out that my microphone isn’t working. I started troubleshooting the issue.
-Played around with all the options from playback devices, recording devices - looks fine.
-Windows seems to properly discover that the microphone has been connected and i’m getting “you can now record audio from this device”.
-Tried headset on another pc - works just fine.
-Tried connecting a headphones jack from the headset to microphone jack port - surprisingly, it works. I can speak through headphones but not through microphone.
-Tried connecting a headphones jack from the headset to microphone jack port and speakers to audio jack port - all works fine, i can speak to my headphones and hear sound on speakers.
-Tried reinstalling all the drivers by downloading the latest ones from gigabyte, also tried running on windows default drivers - no results.
-Tried connecting through front-panel jacks - same result.
-Tried clearing microphone jack with a knife - no results.
For clarification:
Whenever i connect microphone jack from headphones to microphone jack port - I’m getting 0 microphone reaction meaning in recording devices those little rectangles measuring the strength of sound do NOT move at all. Whenever i connect headphones jack from headphones to microphone jack port - It’s all working fine.
It seems that the only thing that is not working is the microphone - only on this PC though.
Any ideas, please?
