Auto Repair Loop / Can't Boot / sfc Won't Run (Needs Windows Protection): CRITICAL PROCESS DIED

Not even a recovery disk helps. System Restore wonโ€™t run. Reset wonโ€™t run. Wonโ€™t let me boot into Safe Mode. CHEKDSK ran successfully form recovery disc command prompt. scannow wonโ€™t run, says it needs Windows Protection, which can only be run through using Run. Cannot boot in to use Run. Other PC is Windows 8. It wonโ€™t open Media Creation Tool, so that I can burn the iso file.

    Thank you.

With this tool you do not need to burn the .iso

Ventoy is an open source tool to create bootable USB drive for ISO files. With ventoy, you don't need to format the disk again and again, you just need to copy the iso file to the USB drive and boot it.

Hi, thanks. I went into BIOS to make โ€œRemovable Deviceโ€ the 1st boot. Saved and exited. Shut down. Started again. Nothing. Still auto repair. Maybe I did something incorrectly.

Note THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA ON YOUR DRIVE.
          Reinstall Win 10 Fresh Install
If yo need to recover data first let me know.

Make sure you only have the one (1) drive you want to install windows on connected.

Download the win 10 tool run it to recreate the flash drive โ€“ Must be minimum 8GB

          Download Windows 10

          Watch this video
How To Install Windows 10 From USB - YouTube

In the video at 2:35 Where to install Windows. Highlight each partition and delete.

Then install on the unallocated space.

In the video at 2:54 you will notice it restarts the computer.
When you are doing this and you get to that point Remove the usb stick whilst it is restarting.
Also if you want to setup a local account instead of logging in with a Microsoft account
Turn off your wireless network and or remove the network cable.
This point is 3.32 in the video - Choose I donโ€™t have internet.
If you want to log in with a Microsoft account then leave the network as is.

Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. Whilst Win10 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

          Reboot after installing the drivers

I have a fix. I have ordered a crowbar from Harbor Freight. Right out of the box a few years ago, this Acer piece of garbage has harassed me for the last time. I will take it and the crowbar out to the dumpster and beat the crap out of it. I may record the event and share.

Hi, thanks. Instructions on the YouTube video. Can you go into some detail as to why you would not advise taking out a memory card? Just for my knowledge. Also do you think thatโ€™s what causing the PC not to even power up?

If you have no memory installed = problem.
