So long ago and so many other post in between.
On a slightly off-topic sidenote, is it possible this has something to do with that VGA warning “Q-LED” my motherboard shoots up when the monitors are not turned on before the computer?

To me I would expect an error code if monitors are off before booting

I couldn’t agree more, this post has gone on far longer than I ever expected, such is troubleshooting I suppose.

As for an error code, that’s what the light is as far as I am aware, no beeps, blinks, or otherwise indicators, the manual can be seen here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m..._UM_V2_WEB.pdf

The only section that makes mention of such is one page 1-12 where it says the following:
“Q LEDs check key components (CPU, DRAM, VGA card, and booting devices) in
sequence during motherboard booting process. If an error is found, the corresponding
LED remains lit until the problem is solved. This user-friendly design provides an
intuitive way to locate the root problem within seconds.”

As detailed by this thread, I have tried the most reasonable causes, with no luck or leads on what exactly is causing the issue. Those being: reseating components, sending in potentially faulty components (GPU and Motherboard), and isolating any possible hardware or software conflicts.

Pretty much, all of them flash during the POST, but if the monitors are on, no issues. However, it should be noted that if they are off, or even unplugged it will come back on, even when plugged into the onboard DP-out on the motherboard.

In order of what you addressed:

I’m not sure about that, I never noticed the light before, which is what made me suspicious in the first place.

I am aware the POST lights flash during startup, I was attempting to convey that the VGA light stayed on after a startup regardless of what it was plugged into, or if there was a GPU installed. I hope this clears what I was trying to say up a bit.

@Bruce - I have not been able to replicate the issue yet, last time it showed up was the better part of a week or two after I thought it was fixed, I would like to keep monitoring it if that is alright, I’m honestly not sure what might have done it at this point.

In direct response to this, you are absolutely right, the light will go away if I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up with the screens on, strange that it wouldn’t go away after it starts outputting video.

As for the sleep issue @Bruce, I cannot replicate it as of late, I’m not sure if it’s fixed or simply waiting for this thread to close (haha!).

I think it may have been fixed by something or a combination of the things that we tried. ???
