I’ve just been given the gaming PC for Christmas and I need to upgrade it to 8 gigabytes of RAM however I don’t know what one to get and I have heard but if I get a wrong one then it won’t fit and I don’t want to have to go through the struggle of getting a refund and having to send it back so please can someone who knows computer as well ask me simple questions that I can just look up up on speecy so then someone can easily help you find an 8 gigabyte RAM that will fit into my PC thank you

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 4GB of RAM is the max that your MB can handle which is what the scanner tool was telling you, Mr Memory also says 4GB max see info here

I have been trying to let you down lightly being that the computer was a gift but you need to know that most of the hardware in the computer is obsolete and has been for years, the processor was released in 2008 and was discontinued many years ago, the GT710 is the most recently item of hardware as it was released back in 2016 and was not intended for gaming but for home theatres or media centres, all of this information is readily available via Google should you wish to confirm any of it for yourself, example EVGA GeForce GT 710 review

Best use for the computer as it is would be for a HTPC or for some low level gaming, if you wished to do anything more graphic intensive you would need to do a couple of things first, check the system requirements for any program or game that you would like to be able to run and upgrade both the video card and possibly the power supply to support any potential new video card.
