Another problem/question now! My Lenovo G50 has overnight stopped charging. Does a battery die suddenly like this?

        Do the easiest test first, see steps one to four Reset from Setup Screen info here

        You can also check that the HDD is the first boot device while you are in the BIOS and likewise do make sure that you do not have any USB type storage devices in the computer when you try to do the reset.

        For convenience, my reply #5;

        If the above does not help any, post back with your MB, PSU and any add on video card brand and model name or number, if you need to open the case up to get the information, see the additional info below;

        The following checks require the computer case to be opened so take the following safety precautions 1st, disconnect the power cord from the wall socket and take anti static precautions before touching anything inside, you can do this by touching a bare metal part of the case or PSU or if a notebook by touching a household radiator or associated copper feed pipe, press the case power button for twenty seconds or so to get rid of any residual charge in the system.

        Remove and reseat the RAM to ensure that it has a good contact.

        Remove and reseat any add on GPU or other cards for the same reason as above.

        Make sure that all internal connections are securely attached to the HDD, optical drive and cooling fans etc.

        Reassemble, test and then post back with an update for us.

        Batteries can fail at any time so yes it is possible, you will need to start a new thread if you require assistance with troubleshooting any other computer.

            I do apologise, circs conspiring against me. I have looked through above carefully, but, honestly, itโ€™s too technical for me. I have tried Using Window Media Creation Tool again, but after getting to Recover, it just keeps โ€˜workingโ€™ endlessly before finally going to login page, and then, once in, still the same old issues. Think itโ€™s time to get to the tip!

              Forget using the Media Creation tool for now and try doing the clean install via the Recovery option that is in Windows itself, see attachment below;
