Read the Nero manual, or use another app as advised by many.

Think I’ll leave nero to be honest. I’m a bit worried as i have video files off my handycam to do yet. Will Ashampoo do those please?

It doesn’t matter where the files come from, Nero, Ashampoo or whatever simply burns files (data, music, movies etc) to CD or DVD.
I’s then an issue with the playing device as to whether that burnt disc can be read.
So you have two issues; getting a program to burn your disc and burning it in a format the receiving device can use.

Ok thanks very much, its been a learning curve. About Ashampoo. If i was to burn some photo’s onto a disk, what tab in Ashampoo do I choose please?

Is it disk image? I’m not too sure I hope you didn’t mind me asking?

            No, it’s not disk image.
That’s a backup method where your entire hard drive is snapshotted to a DVD.
I haven’t used Ashampoo but the ones I have used, they make it pretty obvious, you usually want to make a data disc, you select the files to include then there is a Burn now sort of button.
It’s a sort of exercise you may have to sacrifice a few discs until you get the options right that allows that CD to be played in the device you want.

              Finally some sense,

the first time you write to a disc, select burn data, new disc.
For subsequent burns select burn data, update disc.

Better still, read the help file

That only works on PC’s doesn’t it?

Yes. What I meant was ifI wanted to play the disc I could only play a data disc on computers, not DVD players as well?

I’m sorry if I’m coming across as confusing, my asutismn makes me often mis understood which is hard for me to get across what I mean.

Weather it be music, movies, or whatever, to play anything on most home or automotive cd/dvd players the disc will have to be finalised. Once finalised no more information can be added to the disc. Please read the help file.

Do you consider this thread solved now?

Think I will start again using either Ashampoo or a programme called photoStage slide show (any one used that?)

                        Many thanks for your patience

good luck, hope you get it sorted.
it’s one of those times when pure, blunt, hands-on, get your hands dirty, sort of attitude is required.
yep - you’ll burn a few duds, yep - some won’t play in the desired device, all you can do is try again and chalk it up to experience.

Thanks. I’m not sure if photo stage is free, are there any free photoslide websites I could try for free please?

That’s one bit of software I haven’t needed in maybe 10 years. Last time I wanted to do that I used Movie Maker by Microsoft, back in the XP days.
                              Sorry, can’t help you there.

Ashampoo burning studio will make slideshows, please read the help file, and try it. You may find it easier than asking questions.
