Iam trying to increase my persistance for a Linux Mint USB if possible. My understanding Fat 32 will only let you have 4.1 GB. Something like that. I looked at gparted awhile, the Linux newbie i am, it looks very messed up to me. Tell if i should leave it alone or not. This isnt installed.Originally posted by RustysPlease be more specific as to what are you asking.
Thanks.

That is a screen shot of you HDD not USB. We will need to see the USB drive which should be a sdb not sda.
It is actually 2TB if I am remembering correctly.Originally posted by chuck davisMy understanding Fat 32 will only let you have 4.1 GB. Something like that.Comment

That is showing that the drive is blank and is showing an external drive.
With that drive connected got to Menu
Select Preferences form the left
Now from the right select Disk
From there select the one that should state Thumb Drive and paste in a screen shot of that.
Should look similar to this.

Its on 8 GB USB. Iam ok as far as menu-preferance-disks after that iam lost on what to do. I will give some more info, not sure if it will help though.Originally posted by RustysPlease maximize the window.
Where is Mint installed? Is it still a USB and what size it the USB?
Main OS Windows 10
I have Linux Mint on a USB 8 GB, its not installed.
I dont have any external things at all, like an external hard drive.
4 GB just isnt to good for persistence. I would like to have at least 10 GB persistence.
I dont download any games or anything except Malwarebytes, Ccleaner, Uncleaner, Bit Defender USB Immunizer, Defraggler and things like that, in fact i very rarely get on Windows 10 any more. The last i checked on disk space i had, when this computer was new about 3 or 4 years ago it came with 320 GB Hard Drive. I have used very little of the 320 H.D. I think theres well over 200 GB left, not sure but i think so.

To small of a drive you should be using at least a 32 GB.Originally posted by chuck davisI have Linux Mint on a USB 8 GB, its not installed.
From the Linix Mint site for Linux Mint Mate 17.3
System requirements:
[ul]
[li]512MB RAM (1GB recommended for a comfortable usage).[/li][li]9GB of disk space (20GB recommended).[/li][li]Graphics card capable of 800Γ600 resolution (1024Γ768 recommended).[/li][li]DVD drive or USB port.[/li][/ul]
As you can see that the 8 GB USB drive you are using is to small.
Something else you could do is make a 32 GB partition on the HDD and install Linux there.Comment
