Have you seen cases where the wireless did not work but a wired keyboard does?
yes green light was on keyboard. It blinks a bit then goes out.
yes holding keys at once and I did try unplugging

Let’s test if keyboard
power on and press
Option, Command, P, and R
Hold till it boings twice.
If it does
try other key combo again

it didnt make any noise but now the green light stays flashing longer

when you turn it off are you sure it is off?
When you hold the power button to turn it off you have to keep it pressed in for 20secs.
When you get the screen you posted before is there any writing in the top left hand corner.
Do you have a wired keyboard or can you burrow one.

yes its off when I try
no writing. just the 2 photos I showed. the white loading page and then the next one after it loads

Earlier you asked about bluetooth on your laptop with ubuntu.
I advised you to try the ubuntu forum.
Did you get the bluetooth working.
If yes maybe connect mac keyboard to the laptop to check it works.

there are no noises with keyboard or computer

the other computer is new desktop. I did not do anything with ubuntu forums. two computer forums at once would melt my mind

do wired key boards sometime do the trick? I don’t mind having one on hand. I get tired of batteries in these others

Can’t say for sure it will work with a wired keyboard.

I can’t say that the wired keyboard will work.
Might waste your money.

Try this - different of mac reset
Power off
Power cord out of computer
press the power button on the mac at least 5 times.
Power cord back in
press power button on key board for green light
Power on holding Option and R keys
