phillpower2,

Just to explain what I did:

Before I clicked File/Save the following boxes under options were ticked:

Hide Empty Locations.
Hide Microsoft Entries.
Hide Windows Entries.

Don't know what else I can do?

I have tried again!!!

Not sure what is going on with it, must be the program itself :(

I will go through the log and then come back and edit this post, no need to reply until after that but can you meanwhile go through the log yourself and make a note of anything on the list that you don`t use or may not even know the program is on there.

Edit to add;

Do you have an Epson printer.

Do you use Wondershare.

Do you use Adobe or Java.

You have two anti malware programs installed, MBAM and Zemana.

The MBAM package includes Chameleon which as far as I recall is only contained within the full MBAM AV package.

phillpower2,

Epson Printer - always had.
Wondershare - not showing in programs - so probably not using.
Adobe Acrobat - always had
Adobe Air - always had.
Adobe Photoshop - always had.
Java - always had

I have uninstalled Mawarebytes using the link you supplied.

phillpower2,

Apologies, forgot to mention Wondershare.
I believe it was Video editing software, which when uninstalled must have left some traces behind.

I ran Defender and Zemana and both reported no problems.

That is malware removal information and therefore off limits to discuss here, it is also not relevant to the question that was asked.

What about Zemana, do you intend keeping it and how did you come to have both MBAM and Zemana installed.

If you cant find a program called Wondershare on the computer, you can safely delete the entry in Autoruns, get rid of that + anything else you don`t want then re run Autoruns and post the new log, we need to make sure that all MBAM traces have gone.

phillpower2,

I have uninstalled Zemana.
Can't recall why I had both Mbam and Zemana installed (probably ignorance!!)
I deleted Wondershare fro Autoruns plus a couple of other things.
I have run autoruns again and have attached (quite possibly as long as it was before)

Still four Zemana entries in Autoruns, manually delete them in Autoruns then restart snd check the boot time, if no change, all we can do is check the health of the drive.

phillpower2,

Have deleted entries as requested.

Boot time is unchanged.

Not something you asked me to do but just out of interest I looked in regedit and there are several entries for Zemana - but I have not done anything about it.
Is that anything of importance?

Hello Roger,

I would leave the registry well alone in all honesty.

Last thing we can do now really is check the health of the boot drive, if it checks out as being ok you will have to learn to live with the slightly slower boot time, which btw could even be as a result of Windows itself increasing in size.

Download and run CrystalDisk info standard edition from here

That`s it (y)

The boot drive is 96% healthy which is not too bad, a possible explanation for the dip in performance could be that the drive health has recently dropped from being 100% healthy and that is the drop in performance that you have noticed, unfortunately there is no way of proving or disproving the possibility.

All you can do is keep a regular check on the drives health.

phillpower2,

So I did it right then !!!

Sincere thanks for all your assistance and patience.

Apologies for going off course a couple of times - all well intentioned.

Once again, many thanks - you're a diamond.
Always a pleasure dealing with you.

Please sign off. (y)
