and downgrading the whole PC back to Win8 just to get an old printer to work would seem counter-productive to me!
you'd have to load the whole OS from scratch then all your required software and restore your personal files.
then tweak all your settings: desktop, screen saver, power saving settings, bookmarks, menu bars, passwords, peripheral drivers etc.
but hey - it's not my PC or my problem to remedy. whatever rocks your boat.
Win8.1 mainstream support ended in Jan 2018 with extended support ending in Jan 2023, so you'll be downgrading to a soon-to-be OS without security updates and vulnerability patches being released and all that jazz.
