Every time I play a game(from Steam), during the first five minutes, the game screen always goes back to desktop. The game itself doesn't stop running and I can always play the game again by clicking the bottom left of the screen but this is getting frequent that I suspect something is up. It only started after this message came up(supposedly) from Mozilla Firefox which asked if "I wanted to allow this app to make changes to my device." I clicked yes and thought nothing of it until I remembered that the Firefox logo was completely blue instead of blue and orange. So that could have been a trick by someone if they intended to hack. I attached a pic of the message here to show you what the message looked like. I got it while searching for online images so the difference is that the pic I have here shows blue and orange while the original one I saw was only completely blue. Ever since then, my gameplay is interrupted by returning to the desktop for the past two weeks. But my Windows Defender has also not detected any malware.

Hi!
Windows Defender is not perfect (it's very good tho), but you probably shouldn't worry about being infected (if u were careful ofc)
I Also had a similar problem, when i downloaded Just Cause 4 From Epic Games, and it always froze my whole pc. It was the game's fault, as it's horribly optimized tho.
What game are we talking about exatly?
The firefox logo was always orange and blue.

Planning to download Just Cause 2 to play but that's another story. :) There are only three games I frequently play which is Ghost Master,Suzerain and Battle Chess. Every time before 5 minutes pass the screen kept reverting to desktop. It most likely wouldn't be the games' fault because one is from 2002 and one was created fairly recently. I don't know when Battle Chess was made. So we have a recent and two past games all having the same problem so it's either Steam itself or my PC that is at fault.

As for the logo, the one I attached in this post had an orange and blue logo because I picked it out from an image search to be shown as an example. Therefore it is not the one I saw as the one I saw. The logo which I saw originally was all blue so I suspect that screen which came up is related to something fishy.

"Therefore it is not the one I saw as the one I saw"(Sorry, typo error.Disregard the extra "as the one I saw" part.)

Wait, lemme see. Ah, here it is. It looked similar to this.

But my memory is hazy and it could be possible that it did not even have the shape of the fox, ears and all

Oh wait, my bad. It's the Developer version... In that case maybe you accidentaly updated it? Search for Firefox in the search bar in down left corner (if u have windows 10) and if there's two, then you have both.

Checked. I don't have any all-blue logos anywhere.

If you feel that your machine may be compromised, then we can check for malware.

Download Autologger to your desktop.
Disable your Anitivirus/Defender prior to running.

  • Unzip it there. -- If you are unsure how to unzip a program, then use ---- http://www.7-zip.org/ ----
  • Right click Autologger and run as administrator. (Xp user double click)
  • AVZ4 will open and scan your machine, allow this to complete.
  • Upload Collectionlog.zip to your next reply.

I would need the logs created by the tool. I check then write a script to remove any bad files.

If you say all is well. Then I will close the thread.
