+1 on what's already been stated.
I'd be doing a clean install of Windows, and since you're doing that, might as well do it on a new SSD - two birds, one stone!

Before you continue any further.

You were also asked about.

Please list your power supply unit
Still need to know that make and model.

Kind of useless to do all this work and find out that the PSU is not up to par to run the system affectively and properly.

I replaced it with 1 I had around which was a 1Tb 2.5in HDD, from a laptop I had. Could it be a slow spin speed causing these issues?
Did you use the version of windows that was already installed on this drive?

Yes, the slow of the HDD is part of the issue.

The best thing and really the only thing to do is get the SSD at least 500 GB and preform a clean install.

Install the drivers in the proper order.

Hi @Rustys . Posted psu details in post 7....
PSU is pretty new and is a Seasonic Core GC-650
Yes, when I installed this hdd, I did a clean install of Windows. 😊

Then replacing it would be the most advisable and installing the drivers in the proper order.

With just the new drive installed and no USB drives and or hardware attached (outside of keyboard and mouse).

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers
