I have a toshiba satellite a665 and the screen distorts when the brightness is too low. What is causing this? IMG_20170126_160928.jpg IMG_20170126_160943.jpg IMG_20170126_161518.jpg IMG_20170126_161522.jpg IMG_20170126_161525.jpg

I've seen this caused by bad or loose ram.

Try and re-seat your laptops ram modules. By that I mean take it out, then put it back in. Making sure that the ram modules are snug when you replace them.

Note!! Make sure and remove all power from the machine, prior to working on it. Unplug it -- take out the battery -- hold the power button for 20 seconds.

Hey rahtheone and welcome :)

It can be caused by the flex cable becoming loose on the motherboard. I'll tag @Madmatt2006 to assist you if he can. He does repairs and is much more knowledgeable about laptops and their boards. He can better tell you what the issue is :)

To add to what Jmarket says, you should try each ram stick one at a time.
