Are you sure this procedure is safe? Could it make the problem even worse? What are the chances of this happening?

Yes, we suggest this procedure to several people and is a basis diagnosing process.

We fully understand if you do not feel confident in doing this and or cannot do this.

You can wait and see what others suggest or take it to a service center and have them diagnose the drive.

If the system still has any warranty, contact them and see if it can be repaired under that.

Do you think there may be a possibility that it is just a bug or something? And that therefore my ssd is not damaged. Is it possible?

Should I leave the laptop on? or can I turn it off? should I unplug the charger or can I leave it plugged in all the time? Can these kinds of operations if done superficially help damage the ssd?

Why do you think it broke down? Why do you think the checks I did on windows give me positive responses? While crystaldisk gives me negative?
as stated by others, it may just be SMART being over zealous.
it could also be the your checks have only accessed those areas of the drive that are good.
other checks are accessing different sectors or looking at the drive as a whole.

since the laptop is otherwise performing OK - yes - do a backup of your personal files while the sun shines!!!

Could the fact that the laptop is also working at night while the charger remains plugged in all the time have contributed to the damage?
not directly, that would be more of a battery potential 'reduce life span' issue.
but leaving the unit running all night, if the drive was performing I/O would naturally 'wear out' the drive faster if just running during daylight hours. all depends of what the drive is doing.

@phillpower2 anything I may have missed and or not thought of?

The OP should have by now provided the Speccy url that Bruce requested on Tuesday, that will go some way to supporting or debunking the CrystalDisk Info results.

Here's the storage page of speccy.

That is not a Speccy url and therefore does not provide the required information I`m afraid.

I saw that the url was very long so I decided to take a screen shot of the storage part. What else is needed?

Russ,

Being that the OP is not prepared to provide what has been requested I see no option but to close this thread.
