The only adblock extension I'm currently using is APB, and it didn't show this number before, it's started to show recently.

FRST Fix.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop. NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST/FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

After the fix, then install Ublock Origin for Chrome.

I've ran the script with both the files on desktop and installed uBlock and the number is still showing up, today it's 283.

Opera allows you to hide the total number of ads blocked, FF doesn't.

The number will continue to climb because it is adding up all the ads blocked.

On chrome there is an odd number that is only appearing when on youtube, and it changes from day to day.

Hope you don't mind me butting in here, but if it's only on Youtube have you checked your notifications by chance?

If you are concerned about the number of blocked ads shown by Ublock turn the display off in Ublocks options. This works for all browsers Ive used including several Mozilla based ones.

Are you using AdBlockPlus or uBlockOrigin or something else? There is AdBlock and uBlock as well as several others.
At one point you said you are using ABP.
The only adblock extension I'm currently using is APB
gus is showing a setting in a different ad blocker addon. So a setting for uBO would not work for ABP!

uBlock is NOT uBlockOrigin
installed uBlock

The screenshot posted (in post 24) appears to be Ublock origin, which is what my pic is of.

The script that Malnutrition sent me removed abp, and he left a installation link for uBlock Origin, not uBlock

I have never removed addons by using a script so I'm not sure what was done.

I remove all my addons through the browser interface. I will remove myself from this thread because I don't know what the script did.

I suggest you remove uBO by clicking on Tools, add-ons, extensions. Find uBO and remove it.
Close the browser.
Then reopen the browser go to Tools, add-ons, extensions to be sure it is now gone.

If so, go here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
click the green button Add to Firefox, click install and when installed, if it says you need to restart your browser, do so.

Next go to gus's screen and make the correct adjustments.

CHR Extension: (Adblock Plus) - C:\Users\Tuf Tuf\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb [2017-03-21]

This line above from the script when run in a fixlist would have removed adblock

Yes, no need to have multiple ad blockers... :)

@srkzzzi There is nothing malicious about anything you are seeing, if it will set your mind at ease then reset chrome...

  • Download ResetBrowser To your desktop.
  • Now close all open browsers.
  • Right click and run as administrator.
  • Click on Reset Chrome. -- Allow completion.

Ye I know that there isn't anything malicious now about that, I've done the reset and it's dropped down from 300 to (3) now, hahahahah

Only thing it is the number of ads blocked on the page, the number will grow with time...

So if there is nothing more, then we can close this thread?
