  • Hello everyone We want to personally apologize to everyone for the downtime that we've experienced. We are working to get everything back up as quickly as possible. Due to the issues we've had, your password will need to be reset. Please click the button that says "Forgot Your Password" and change it. We are working to have things back to normal. Emails are fixed and should now send properly. Thank you all for your patience. Thanks, PCHF Management

An elevated command prompt should be opened.
In this prompt copy and paste this line taskkill /f /im explorer.exe then hit enter.

If needed open another elvated command prompt and in it type start explorer.exe then Enter.

Try the icon removal and let us know.

I want to remove the icons of some apps in start menu. I dont want to uninstall them but just remove the icons.

if you right click on an App, the listed options are your ONLY options.
you can unpin or uninstall - that's it.
system Apps are different from user installed programs - those ones you can do what you want by right clicking their Start Menu listing > More > Open file location, and deleting the shortcut.

you don't want to uninstall - so your options are even more limited, to the point you have none.
you are stuck with the Start menu has it is.

there are 3rd party Start Menu software out there that 'manages' the Start Menu layout, I last used them with Win8 and Metro to beat it into submission but their problem was a) they are not sanctioned by MS, and b) almost every time MS did an update, the app would break and I'd have to wait for the programmers to release a fix.
