I've tried installing it from a blank USB port -USB-HDD and this was unsuccessful as my PC did not respond. I am now thinking of copying Windows 10 installation onto my desktop and see if it will install from there, as I don't have faith in my ability for clearing CMOS values and resetting BIOS and potentially causing further issues.Did you create the Win 10 usb as per my post?
If yes
Power off
insert usb into a black usb port
Turn on computer and start tapping the F12 key. This will give a boot menu.
From the boot menu pick usb
and continue the install.
MAKE SURE 1 drive only is connected.
You could probably get away with using Windows 7 drivers, but with Windows 10 constantly evolving, there is a potential components might stop working at some point.
