Have you tried a different Browser to access the site since Chrome is still giving you issues like @Bruce suggested?

From the sounds of it Chrome is corrupt and need to reset and or uninstalled and reinstalled.

Yes, Using my Avg browser, I managed to create another account on skype using another email address I have. (ATT.net instead of gmail). It works. As for the google chrome browser, I went to the google site and can use the google browser from there, as oppose to the google browser inherent in my computer. Still whaling away at trying to fix my google browser but I have these work around schemes to get around it. Thanks.

OK - I'm confused. (and yeah, sometimes that isn't too hard to do)

I thought we got rid of AVG Browser many posts ago.
if not - do so now - it's rubbish.

and the Google website IS the Google browser. your 'google browser inherent in my computer ' should simply take you to www.google.com
if that is a link on your desktop, delete that too.

if you have bookmarks in Chrome or AVG Browser, export them to a HTML file.
now uninstall Chrome and delete this folder: C:\Users\{your profile name}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
that will remove all your Chrome history - ALL of it - passwords, bookmarks, surf history, filled out forms, Chrome settings, extensions etc.

now download the latest from here; https://www.google.com/chrome/?system=true&standalone=1&platform=win64
go to where it was saved, double click to install it.
once installed, import your saved bookmarks.

if that doesn't fix your Chrome issue - ditch it too - life is too short.
download and use Firefox.

Thanks, Bruce. Sounds like you are a real techie. But I will leave well enough alone for now at least. Everytime I make changes I get in trouble, even though I'm sure your suggestions are good. Any more bad stuff with this computer and it goes out the window!

no sweat.
it sounded like you had a work-around anyway so live with what you can and you can always revisit it and fiddle later.

I was trying to export the favorites list but my favorites list doesn't have an export choice. So I surfed around trying to find out how to do that when, viola, I clicked on chrome and it came up fine! Don't know what caused it but Ill take it. Guess *** was shining down on me. So all is fine now . Thanks.
