Hello, I have been trying to figure out what exactly is going on with my RAM not being fully utilized after installing my new motherboard. I have tried just about everything like: switching out RAM sticks in the correct slots between all 3 sets of RAM sticks (none of them change the outcome), changing how much RAM Windows 10 can use through msconfig, updating the bios of my motherboard even though the motherboard reads the sticks are slotted in correctly, reinstalling windows just about several times, nothing changes the fact that I cannot use all of my ram! Unfortunately I do not have the details of my first set of RAM sticks but it is irrelevant since between all 3 sets the results are the same. My specs below are:

Ryzen 5 2600x (CPU)
MSi B450 Pro Gaming Max (Motherboard)
Nvidia 2600 (Graphics Card)
Ripjaws V DDR4 3600MhZ (RAM Set 1)
Ripjaws V DDR4 3200MhZ (RAM Set 2)

I have been doing a lot of research and I think it has something to do with how many MhZ of RAM my motherboard can take, but its just making me more and more confused. I have also had my brother try to help, and got guided by some of my friends to do various things. The conclusion they've made is that I might need a new motherboard I surely hope this is not the case. I even went to microcenter to by the 2nd set of RAM and was told to reinstall Windows which obviously didn't work. I would like to see others thoughts though as I am just devastated.

Let’s get your complete PC specs so we can see if the memory is compatible with the motherboard.
Get Speccy; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot (hit Yes if prompted to proceed with publish) > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Now you can paste that link into your next post.

Speccy doesn’t show the Power Supply Unit so, if a Desktop PC, list the make/model of the PSU.

Is Speccy safe?

Not finding any such a MB but fwiw neither pair of RAM sticks is appropriate for the CPU which AMD say here can only handle up to 2933MT/s; the mixing of two different specs of RAM is a whole separate issue on its own.

Moved to the more appropriate Internal hardware forum.

What MB does your brother have.

Something to keep in mind, a CPU must be compatible with a MB whereas the RAM has to be compatible with both the CPU and the MB, this because a MB can be compatible with faster CPUs than the one in your list of parts and MB manufacturers often state RAM speeds that far exceed that which any compatible CPU can handle, this is misleading at the least or dishonest at worst.

Couple of things of note in Speccy but get back to us on the above + include the PSU details that were requested previously by Bruce.
 
I do not remember what motherboard he has, but the problem has been circumvented as we essentially started from scratch and put everything except his power supply into my case and everything works perfectly. I am very thankful to have posted on this forum and got very valuable information from this situation. Thank You All
 
So basically his components are now in your PC, but with your power supply?
His mobo, his memory, his CPU?

Where are your components now?
 
No follow up from the OP so will take it that no further assistance is required.
