Hi all,

Please can I check if anyone has any views on the RAM needed to stream live videos, eg. music and sport, from the internet on a laptop? Would an 8GB RAM laptop work for this or is a 16GB RAM laptop required?

Many thanks

8GB would be fine.
streaming is more of an internet speed thing rather than a PC spec thing. :)
Many thanks! On that point, I have a wifi router in the house, would it be more appropriate to use a wired connection for streaming live tv?

Other things that can interfere with WiFi is yet not limited to.
distance
walls
floors
other people WiFi signals
other devices on the same network
security settings
VPNs
security software

+1 with what's been said already.
if you ever have a choice, wired is always better than wireless.
but some times, it just has to be wireless, so expect the odd hiccup.

I have set my devices that are wireless, via the streaming providers options, to only deliver content in SD format rather than HD or even ultra-HD. I simply don't need to extra quality and personally, can never tell the difference really (old TV and old eyes maybe).
